I Passed!
I completed my WSET Level 2 Course, passed my exam, and just received my certification and lapel pin! It feels so rewarding when hard work pays off!
I had studied many hours and still didn’t feel completely confident once I finished my exam. I knew I had dedicated as much time to studying as I could and hoped it was enough. After four long weeks, I received my results- I passed with merit! Unfortunately, this anxious waiting time was prolonged for a few weeks due to my results landing in my spam folder...
Lessons Learned
Lessons Learned:
- Always check your spam!
- Keep moving forward and reminding yourself of your goals!
For a couple of weeks after my exam, I experienced burnout and felt discouraged I may not have passed, feeling like I had wasted time and money by taking my exam too soon after finishing my course. Looking back, I wish I went easier on myself and focused more on the silver lining- regardless if I passed, I had learned so much throughout a 6 week expedited course, and this was only the beginning of my wine & spirits studies. Luckily, I DID pass and I have started to taste and study again for my own enjoyment.
What's Next?
I am relieved and feel accomplished that I have succeeded in my first step of formal wine & spirits education. I’m ready to move forward! In the new year, I will be taking my WSET Level 3 course and also looking into the Court of Master Sommeliers Level One. In the meantime, I’m continuing to taste and read on my own.
Looking forward to sharing the next steps of my journey! Cheers!
